Alpha complexes in Scala

Alpha-complexes form a backbone of fast persistence and topology in low dimensions – but so far they have been missing in the entire Javaplex lineage of libraries. In this talk I will describe some of what goes into making a full implementation of alpha-complexes with the platform available through Scala and on the JVM. We will definitely discuss the Helix algorithm, front-marching approaches, and optimizer based approaches. Depending on time and the state of the code base at the time of the talk, we might also discuss convex hull based methods.
